Taylor was born as the eldest child of Russell Hickson (father) and Shannon Hickson (mother). She was raised in Kelowna alongside her three younger siblings – Tyson, Tianna and Tiernan.

Tylor had an accident while filming the movie Ghostland. The crew told her it was safe to hit her hand against a window pane which she did and the window smashed. She lost her balance and fell to the ground, cutting her face against the broken glass. As a result of this incident, the left side of his face needed 70 stitches to rejuvenate it, which left him with a permanent scar.
