Tayla Lynn was born to her parents, Cindy Pelmons and Ernest Ray Lynn.
Her parents got married when they were 18 years old but got divorced after three years of marriage. At the time of their divorce, Tayla was conceived. She lived with her mother and stepfather, Roger, in Tennessee for most of her childhood.
She saw her father on and off, but after he joined her grandmother Loretta’s band, he was on the road for most of the time. When Tayla was young, she didn’t know how famous her grandmother was because she lived with her mother and Cindy didn’t want them to act entitled.
In 1997, Loretta asked her to go on the road with her as an opening act. During her time on the road, she got to experience the impact of her grandmother. At an early age, Tayla struggled with alcoholism and addiction.
