She started acting on Sesame Street as a child artist in 1985, and appeared in a musical piece with Herbie Hancock and Star Search. Ali acted and sang in “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” in 1990. Her debut album ‘Kiss the Sky’ which went gold in 1999 included the hit song “Daydreamin” that was produced by Rodney Jerkins. This song touched #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart. Her films include Mother and Child, Brother, Glory Road in 2005, and the music video “Can I Live?” for Anthony Hamilton and Nick Cannon. Born in Long Island, New York on January 24th 1979, Ali attended the Harvard University and got a bachelor’s degree in Government and Afro-American history in 2002. She also traveled as a spokesperson for Obama’s presidential campaign heading college campus drives for voter registration. From 1995 to 1998, Tatyana dated the actor Jonathan Brandis.
