However, Canadian professional MMA player Tanner Boser competes in the Heavyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship(UFC).
Born and raised in Bonnyville, Alberta, Boser trained in karate for nearly 10 years, prior to turning pro in 2012.
After making his professional debut on October 5, 2012, against Mike Cobey, Boser then moved to Edmonton, Alberta in 2013 to pursue his mixed martial arts career.
In 2019, Boser signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship and made his UFC debut on October 18, 2019, at UFC on ESPN 6 against Daniel Spitz where he won the bout via unanimous decision earning him his first victory in the promotion.
Boser has mostly fought as a heavyweight, with occasional bouts as a light heavyweight.
Boser is scheduled to face Ion Cuțelaba in a light heavyweight contest on April 15, 2023, at UFC on ESPN 44.
