“Tad” Williams is an American storyteller who was born on March 14, 1957, in San Jose, California, to Robert Paul and Margaret Williams. He is the author of the multivolume Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn series, Otherland series, and Shadowmarch series, as well as the standalone books Tailchaser’s Song, The War of the Flowers, Caliban’s Hour, and Child of an Ancient City. He lives in the United Kingdom with his wife and two children.
At the moment, he is working on the Bobby Dollar Series of books. The titles of the first two novels in the series are The Dirty Streets of Heaven and Happy Hour in Hell, respectively; the third book, Sleeping Late on Judgement Day, is set to be published in 2014. The first two books in the series are available on Amazon. His short stories and articles have appeared in anthologies and have been collected in Rite: Short Work and A Stark and Wormy Knight, among other publications. More than 17 million copies of Williams’ novels have been sold worldwide to date. Williams’s work in comics includes a six-issue miniseries for DC Comics called The Next, which was written by Williams.
He also authored Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis for DC Comics, beginning with issue #50 and concluding with issue #57 of the comic book series. Some of his other comic work includes Mirrorworld: Rain and The Helmet of Fate: Ibis the Invincible #1 (both published by Image Comics) (DC). Tad Williams and his wife, Deborah Beale, are working on a series of young-adult novels titled The Ordinary Farm Adventures, which will be published later this year.
The Dragons of Ordinary Farm and The Secrets of Ordinary Farm are the first two novels in the series, and they are also available on Amazon. The third instalment is presently in the process of being completed. Tad Williams revealed on his blog a new trilogy, The Last King of Osten Ard, which is a successor trilogy to his Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn series. The Last King of Osten Ard is set in the same world as the Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn series. The storey takes place 30 years after the events of the first trilogy.
