Tabitha Karanja’s daughter Tecra Muigai died of an accident falling from the stairs on May 3, 2020.
After the news broke, authorities arrested her lover, Omar Lali, for her death.
The incident is promptly investigated by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
Tecra shared a flat in Shela, Lamu Island, with Lali, a 51-year-old male.
Police are then allowed to keep Lali for 21 days by Lamu Principal Magistrate Allan Sitati to complete their investigation.
According to a postmortem examination, Tecra died as a result of skull trauma.
According to police sources, she was unconscious when carried to Lamu’s King Fahad Hospital on April 30.

Tecra Muigai Cause Of Death & Boyfriend Details
As per the news published in Kenyan media, Tecra Muigai’s cause of death was stated as skull trauma after falling from stairs.
Tecra Muigai was living with her boyfriend, Omar Lali, in an apartment in Lamu Island.
Omar Lali was the prime suspect in Tecra Muigai’s murder but was later released by the court.
Lali’s family had asked permission to attend the burial to pay their respects, citing Tecra’s kindness whenever they visited.
After the 21-day pre-trial detention term expired, Magistrate Allan Sitati declined to keep Lali in custody.
He ruled that detectives had not discovered anything significant.
Lali is free on an Sh300,000 bond or a comparable surety.
Due to a lack of funds, his family submits title papers to two pieces of land as security. The case, however, is not dismissed.
Homicide police investigating the case found anomalies in Tecra’s death account from the day of his release.
The case resurfaces in March 2021 following disclosures by Tabitha Karanja-the owner of Keroche Breweries.
He alleged Tecra had been providing money to Lali for a long time.
Mrs. Karanja holds Lali responsible for her daughter’s death.
