Sydney Lotuaco and Matt Donald
He had his sights set on Sydney Lotuaco, when Matt first arrived in Paradise. They two went with Luke Stone and Kristina Schulman on a double date.
Matt’s relationship with Sydney seemed to fizzle, the moment Bri Barnes arrived at the beach and asked him to go with her on a one-on-one date
Matt felt offended when Chris Harrison canceled Paradise’s last cocktail party. He said he was torn over Sydney and Bri, and hoped to use that time to get to know both better. He said he could speak to Sydney about anything as he considered his choices ahead of the ceremony but he loved the supermodel looks of Bri. It was a tough decision to make.
Matt made it clear that Bri was the one for him when he gave her his rose at the rose ceremony during the show. Bri wasn’t quite as sure though, and she told Matt that she wouldn’t want to go with him to the overnight dates. That meant that Matt was left all alone.
Matt and Sydney have been in contact on social media since the season ended, even though they broke up in Paradise. They tweeted at each other over the funny moment during the episode that highlighted their first kiss.
Online exchanges between Matt and Sydney could be just one example of exes keeping in touch even after they broke up. Sydney has recently moved from New York to California home state of Matt, which is a promising sign to any Matt-Sydney shippers out there. Sydney now lives in Los Angeles and Matt lives in Los Gatos, so they certainly aren’t close neighbors, so if they ever want to start kissing again, it might be a lot easier for them to meet up.
