Susan Rae salary: How much does Susan Rae make?

Due to the tragic case of a BBC Radio 4 broadcaster who was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s, thousands of dollars have been donated to help with her care by her loyal fans.

Susan Rae, 66, a Dundee native, worked for the BBC’s international service for 30 years as a radio host, narrating several programs.

The mother of two, who resided in London, received the disease’s diagnosis last year. In June, she moved into an apartment in an independent retirement home.

Rory and Finn Cargill, her sons, claim that her requirements have “recently altered” and that the family is no longer able to pay for her care.

They wrote: “Shockingly, she is regarded to be ineligible to receive any benefits that recognise her illness” on a fundraising website.

Presenter Kirsty Wark of BBC Newsnight was one among the hundreds of people who have already contributed, helping the page quickly reach over £23,000.
