Super Fruit: The Journey
You’re probably wondering how these popular artists came together to form the ‘Superfruit’ duos. They have revealed it while at the multinational pancake restaurant ‘IHOP’ and talking to create a YouTube channel individually which eventually became together. The name ‘Superfruit’ came from a random thinning on Mitch’s side.
With the flow, the videos about the duos’ daily lifestyle and casual gaming competition began to upload. In addition, they started uploading videos of their covers, original songs, and many more.
SuperFruit: Members, Appointments
The channel is made up of two members of the American a cappella group ‘Pentatonix’ along with Kirstin Maldonado, Kevin Olusola and Matt Sallee.
Mitch Grassi: Born July 24, 1992, he is an American singer and musician from Arlington, Texas. He is principal tenor and choirs since 2011 until appearing in the group ‘Pentatonix’.
Scott Hoying: Born in the United States of America, he has become the lead baritone and backing vocals in the a cappella group ‘Pentatonix’ from 2011 to present.
The ‘Superfruit’ duos were rumored to date each other despite coming out as gay. Although they open up as gay, they are not dating. Instead, they are individually dating someone else. However, they have revealed in one of the videos that they had been dating for about 2 weeks, sometime in 2009. Also, Grassi is dating Beau Sloane while Hoying is dating Mark Manio.
SuperFruit: songs, albums, tours
The duos began their musical journey with Superfruit uploading Pentatonix-style covers and medleys. They hit social media for their cover songs and comedy videos. Later in 2016, they released their first original song ‘Bad 4 US’ on October 18, followed by their next song ‘Sweet Life’ on November 15.
They released their first studio album ‘Future Friends’, initially releasing the two EPs from the album. They are ‘Future Friends: Part One’, followed by the ‘Future Friends: Part Two’ EP. The sound of their music differs from the Pentatonix trend that they followed until then. Their album featured instruments with a strong presence of electronic instruments with a pop melody-oriented style. Additionally, they went on a Future Friends Tour in 2018.
SuperFruit: Other companies
In addition to YouTube, the members also promoted ‘The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water’. In addition, they had also appeared on the American late night program ‘The Grace Helbig Show’. They guest-starred on the hit YouTube channel ‘Good Mythical Morning’ in January 2018.
