Strahan, Sara, and Keke Wiki
Strahan, Sara, and Keke, or simply Strahan, Sara, and Keke is an American daytime talk show broadcast by ABC, which premiered on September 10, 2018.
It is hosted by former The View co-host Sara Haines, former NFL player and former Live co-host Michael Strahan, and actress Keke Palmer.
The show is produced as an extension of ABC’s national morning show Good Morning America and was originally titled GMA Day until January 2019, when it was renamed, Strahan and Sara.
The show was renamed again in August 2019 with Palmer’s arrival as a third co-host, after having filled in for Haines.
In most of the country, the program is broadcast at 1:00 p.m. ET, replacing The Chew. Affiliates in the Central Time Zone have the option to air the program at 11:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m. or tape-delayed at 2 p.m. to facilitate noon newscasts.
Precursor
On July 9, 2012, following the cancellation of its lifestyle talk show The Revolution due to low ratings, ABC temporarily replaced the program with Good Afternoon America.
Hosted by Josh Elliott and Lara Spencer, the program filled the time slot until September 10, when General Hospital was moved up into the slot, and ABC gave the 3:00 p.m. ET hour back to its affiliates.
ABC promoted the limited-run series as primarily focusing on celebrity and pop culture topics. The show broke format once on July 12 to cover the 2012 Aurora, Colorado theater shooting live.
Premiere|Did Strahan and Sara get Cancelled?
On May 23, 2018, ABC announced that it had canceled The Chew and that the program would be replaced by a new third hour of Good Morning America. In July 2018, the title of the program was announced as GMA Day, with Michael Strahan and Sara Haines serving as co-hosts.
On January 28, 2019, the show was rebranded as Strahan & Sara, with a new logo and updated studio. Variety reported that the decision was meant to partially downplay its ties to Good Morning America by placing a larger emphasis on its hosts, in a similar manner to Today with Kathie Lee and Hoda.
The show’s initial ratings in the first half of the season had been slightly weaker than those of The Chew, declining from a 2 million viewer average to between 1.7 and 1.9 million viewers.
With Haines on maternity leave, actress Keke Palmer began filling in as co-host in June 2019. On July 31, 2019, it was reported that Palmer would join the show full-time as a third host, with a spokesperson citing her chemistry and popularity with viewers as reasoning.
On August 26, 2019, it was officially announced that the show would be renamed GMA3: Strahan, Sara & Keke to reflect her new role.

ABC’s latest addition is sure to have some viewers in their feelings. Actress and singer Keke Palmer are reportedly joining Michael Strahan and Sara Haines’ Good Morning America spinoff Strahan & Sara as a full-time co-host, Page Six reports.

Keke Palmer Joins ‘Good Morning America’ As Co-Host Of Rebranded Third Hour
Keke Palmer made her debut Monday as co-host of the third hour of Good Morning America, joining Michael Strahan and Sara Haines. (See video below.)
The actress and TV personality, who is set to star with Jennifer Lopez and Cardi B in the September film release Hustlers, had already been taking a significant role on the ABC morning show in recent months. In July, she was reported to be near a deal to officially come aboard.
Palmer demonstrated chemistry in multiple appearances with the two current hosts of Strahan and Sara, including during Haines’ maternity leave. Palmer’s interview with Bella Thorne, in which Thorne described her complicated relationship with her mother, made news earlier this summer. The block will now be renamed GMA3: Strahan, Sara & Keke.
Bringing the 25-year-old aboard is seen as a move aimed at widening the appeal of the show and potentially catching the interest of younger viewers.
The third hour started out as GMA Day, a replacement in 2018 for The Chew after that food-accented show left the airwaves due to the multiple sexual misconduct allegations against co-host Mario Batali.
Palmer has also appeared in the TV series Scream Queens, the film Akeelah and the Bee and TV special Grease Live!
Here was the rebranding of the hour, as captured in a clip from GMA’s Twitter handle: The unveiling of the new show came on Palmer’s birthday. Using her Twitter handle, whose bio calls her “Millennial Diva,” Palmer posted this retrospective birthday clip:
Strahan And Sara Reviews|The Real Reason Why Keke Palmer Is Hosting the ‘GMA’ Show ‘Strahan and Sara’
More Keke is coming your way! After weeks of rumors that the Scream Queens star would be joining Michael Strahan and Sara Haines on Good Morning America’s third-hour program, it’s now been made official.
The announcement, which was made on Keke’s 26th birthday, prompted ABC to change the title of the show from Strahan and Sara to GMA3: Strahan, Sara, and Keke.
“It’s been a blast having Keke co-host this summer. She brings a unique and spontaneous energy viewers love,” said Rory Albanese, the program’s executive producer, in a statement. “She’s a multi-talented artist, and I’m thrilled to have her join Michael and Sara every day.”
Keke first came on the show to help fill in while Sara was on maternity leave earlier this summer. Prior to this GMA gig, she became the youngest talk show host in TV history when she started her own program, Just Keke, back in 2014 when she was 20 years old.
Now that Sara Haines has welcomed baby Caleb into the world, she’s out on maternity leave for the rest of the summer. To fill her chair temporarily, ABC has elected the one and only Keke Palmer to co-host with Michael Strahan on Strahan and Sara.
The decision to have Keke fill in for Sara for the next few months was met with so much excitement from fans. “Yassss Keke !!! Congratulations,” a GMA viewer wrote on YouTube. Another complimented Keke’s amazing energy and said that they “always love seeing her.”
Both Sara and Michael seem to share in the fans’ excitement. While announcing their “plan” to have Keke come on, Michael said it was going to be “funnnnnnn!” and Sara enthusiastically agreed.
Why do they love Keke so much? The third-hour GMA stars thought she did an amazing job when she filled in for Michael Strahan this past April.
“When Michael was traveling a few months back, I had the best time with one of our guest hosts. She’s super talented and we danced and we had so much fun,” Sara gushed. Strahan and Sara wasn’t Keke’s first talk show gig, though.
In 2014, Keke became the youngest talk show host in TV history at 20 years old when she launched her own program entitled Just Keke on BET.
Since then, she’s starred in Fox’s Grease: Live broadcast as Marty Maraschino, released lots of new music, and become a regular on VH1’s Scream. Wendy Williams’ fans will also recall that she filled in for Wendy when the talk show star was out earlier this year.
In short, Keke is definitely a big deal, and at 25 years old, she already has a ton of experience under her belt. It’s no wonder that Sara and Michael are comfortable (and proud!) to have her on.
Who is Keke on Strahan and Sara?
Actress Keke Palmer will take over co-hosting duties on ABC’s Strahan & Sara with Michael Strahan while Sara Haines goes on maternity leave. On Monday’s show, Haines and Strahan announced that Palmer, 25, would take over co-hosting duties for the summer.
Who is hosting Sara and Strahan?
Michael Strahan and Sara Haines are teaming up as co-hosts of Strahan and Sara, the new third hour of Good Morning America debuting this fall. Strahan and Sara premiere Monday, Sept. 10 at 1 p.m. EDT / 12 p.m. central and Pacific on ABC.

Michael Strahan Biography | Michael Strahan
Michael Anthony Strahan (/ˈstreɪhæn/; born November 21, 1971) is a former American football defensive end who spent his entire 15-year career with the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL).
Strahan was born in Houston, Texas. The youngest of six children, he is the son of Louise (Traylor) Strahan, a basketball coach, and Gene Willie Strahan, a retired Army Major and a boxer with a 1–1 record against future heavyweight Ken Norton. He is the nephew of retired professional football player Arthur Strahan.
Gene was a major in the U.S. Army, and when Michael was 9, the family moved to an army post – BFV (Benjamin Franklin Village) – in Mannheim, West Germany. Although Strahan did not begin to play high school football at Westbury High School until his senior year,
he did play organized football while attending school at MAHS (Mannheim American High School) a US Department of Defense Dependent High School, in Käfertal (Mannheim), Germany, playing linebacker for the Mannheim Bison in 1985.
The summer before Strahan’s senior year of high school, his father sent him to live with his uncle Art (a former NFL defensive lineman) in Houston so he could attend Westbury High School.
Strahan played one season of football, which was enough for him to get a scholarship offer from Texas Southern University. He then flew back to Germany for the spring term, where he graduated from Mannheim Christian.

Live and Good Morning America
On October 1, 2010, Strahan co-hosted Live! with Regis and Kelly with Kelly Ripa for the first time when Regis Philbin was absent for that show. Philbin left in November 2011, leaving an empty spot.
After twenty guest appearances over two years, Strahan was selected as Kelly Ripa’s new co-host on September 4, 2012, marking his first official day on the rechristened syndicated talk show, Live! with Kelly and Michael.
Ratings instantly surged, impressively generating year-over-year time slot gains across all key demographics, towering over its nearest competition, the fourth hour of NBC’s Today Show, by 87 percent.
On April 19, 2016, ABC announced that Strahan would be leaving Live! with Kelly and Michael to begin working full-time on Good Morning America. Strahan won a Daytime Emmy twice for “Outstanding Talk Show Host” during his tenure with the show.
In 2018, Strahan began co-hosting a daytime talk show spin-off of Good Morning America, GMA Day, alongside Sara Haines. In January 2019, the program rebranded as Strahan and Sara.
The $100,000 Pyramid
In 2016, ABC announced that Strahan would be hosting a summer revival of The $100,000 Pyramid, which would air on Sunday nights along with the Steve Harvey-hosted Celebrity Family Feud and the Alec Baldwin-hosted Match Game as part of a “Sunday Fun & Games” lineup. Strahan is on record as saying that Pyramid was one of his favorite game shows growing up.
Wife
He was married to his first wife, Wanda Hutchins, in Germany until 1996. They have a daughter, Tanita Strahan (b. 1992), and son, Michael Anthony Strahan, Jr. (b. 1995). Strahan moved them to the U.S. and purchased a $163,000 house in the same Houston neighborhood in which his parents reside.
In 1999, he married Jean Muggli after meeting her at a spa. They have twin daughters who were born in 2004. They divorced acrimoniously in 2006. In January 2007 Judge James B. Convery awarded Muggli $15 million in a divorce settlement in addition to $18,000 monthly child support.
In her testimony, Muggli claimed that their (at the time 20-month-old) daughters liked “to be accessorized”; that “Isabella doesn’t like to leave the house without a purse”; and that the children’s preferences justified her spending $22,500 on photo shoots, $27,000 on clothing, and $1,700 for sign language classes.
With this being more than half of his $22 million in assets, Strahan appealed. In March 2007, the court ordered the Montclair, New Jersey mansion to be auctioned and the sales money split evenly with Jean; the house was valued at $3.6 million.
In August 2009, Strahan became engaged to Nicole Mitchell, Eddie Murphy’s ex-wife; however, in 2014, the two broke off their engagement due to busy schedules.
In June 2011, Strahan filmed a commercial supporting legalizing same-sex marriage in New York.
He resides on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
