Steve Shives Wife, Biography, and Other Facts You Need to Know

Steve Shives is an atheist YouTuber and vlogger known for his videos – the Atheist Reads series and the Five Stupid Things (now Five Things) videos. In the Atheist Reads series, Steve uses his expertise as an English major to “critically examine” Christian apologists.

His videos cover a wide range of other topics, including conspiracy theories, movie reviews, current affairs, atheism, wrestling, and comics.

He excelled as an atheist vlogger until he decided to dive into feminism, arguing that it needed to be embraced and widely accepted by the atheist community. This ideology and attitude not only drew strong criticism from anti-feminists in YouTube’s atheist community, but also reduced its fans by a certain percentage. Interestingly, the YouTuber cares less about losing all of his fans as he is also very quick to block as many people as possible in an effort to reduce the absurd amount of harassment he receives in his nets daily.

His biography

Apart from knowing that his name is Steve Warren Shives, nothing more is known about his date of birth, place of birth, parents, education, siblings and any other personal details.

He soon began the “An Athiest Reads” series where he uses his expertise as an English major to “critically examine” Christian apologists. He does this by reading religious books (mostly by Christian apologists) and as he reads he explains, expands on, and gives his opinion from an atheist perspective on what he has just read.

The videos in this series are 20-30 minutes long and are uploaded chapter by chapter. With this series, Steve Shives gained popularity online, especially among YouTube’s atheist community.

Another popular series that Steve aired through his channel is what he called “ Five Stupid Things” (now Five Things). In this series, he tackles issues related to religion, conspiracy theories, and comic books by choosing five things he thinks are really stupid about any of the topics he talks about.

On the series “Five Stupid Things” he also speaksabout the news. In the episodes usually titled “Five Stupid Things for (Date)”, Steve talks about five things he thinks are stupid in the news. He uploads these episodes fortnightly.

Steve had a lot of fans who loved what he did and many followed him, even the Huffington Post singled him out for his unique insights and opinions on issues, but he soon came under attack when he got into feminist vlogging.

He believes that feminism should be more widely accepted in the atheist community, his position has not been welcomed by many, especially by anti-feminists in the atheist community of which he is a member.

Steve Shives’ wife

He is married to a woman named Ashley Hutson. Just like her husband, Ashley doesn’t know much about her personal life except that she is married to Steve Shives and is a devout feminist.

In fact, many believe that Steve became a feminist to please her because she controls him so much. Some believe that Shives is always very careful not to say anything to her that offends her so she won’t be locked in the basement as punishment.
