Steve Rosenthal Net Worth, Income, Salary, Earnings, Biography

Steven P Rosenthal was born on January 21, 1953, in Washington, DC, and has worked as a labour and political strategist for many years. He was raised in a union home in Brooklyn, New York, where he was born and raised. Rosenthal has been referred to be one of the Democratic Party’s “smartest and most powerful strategists” by the New York Times newspaper. As one of the founding members and the Chief Executive Officer of America Coming Together (ACT), a voter mobilisation effort aimed at ousting incumbent Republican President George W. Bush, Rosenthal was a key figure in the campaign to unseat Bush. A total of $142 million was collected and spent by the ACT, which resulted in one of the biggest voter mobilisation efforts in Democratic history. Former Al Gore campaign manager Donna Brazile was cited in a 2004 Washington Post storey complimenting Steve Rosenthal’s leadership of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACT), stating “He is the last great hope of the Democratic Party.” “Democrats, mostly via America Coming Together, built what was not only the most sophisticated get-out-the-vote campaign in the party’s history, but it was also arguably the finest field work by a factor of at least ten,” said Charlie Cook in the National Journal of ACT’s efforts. During his seven-year stint as political director of the AFL-CIO, Rosenthal was responsible for the design and implementation of Labor ’96, Labor ’98, Labor 2000, and Labor 2002, which served as the labour movement’s united grassroots mobilisation campaign from 1996 to 2002. According to a 1996 article in Business Week regarding Rosenthal’s success as a labour strategist, Steven P Rosenthal “has infused a fresh sense of urgency into the AFL-rusty CIO’s political engine by bringing together the organization’s far-flung activities into a coordinated national effort.” Many union leaders credit Mr. Rosenthal for transforming organised labor’s feeble, forgettable election campaign operation into one that many political analysts believe is the most effective in the country when he left his position with the AFL-CIO, according to the New York Times, which published his resignation letter.
