When questioned about DiStanislao, David Crosby shares the following insight: “Stevie is the most talented musician I’ve ever worked with, both technically and aesthetically. It’s because he “gets” what I’m saying. His role as a drummer is more than just that; he also performs the song.” Crosby thinks that there are two kinds of drummers: the first is the traditional drummer and the second is the modern drummer “Drummers who groove and drummers who flash. Stevie is a drummer who plays in the groove. He’s pleasant, not conceited, and he’s inquisitive about everything. He wants to learn more. It is because of this that he is a joy to deal with.”
