Stevie Starr (born 1962/1963) is a Scottish performance artist who is most renowned for her ability to regurgitate information. During his performance, he eats a variety of objects, including pennies, lightbulbs, balloons, nails, billiard balls, dried sugar, and goldfish, and then regurgitates them back up into his mouth. Although he has never explained how he does this, some have speculated that he is a con artist due to the implausibility of some of his regurgitations. Starr was seen eating broken glass and other potentially hazardous items during an appearance on Howard Stern’s television programme in the 1990s, and then meticulously regurgitating most of it before entering a bathroom where he put his finger down his throat and vomited up the remainder of it. Starr has made guest appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman, and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, among other shows and programmes. Starr’s lengthier solo performance has a demanding worldwide touring schedule, which he manages alone. He grew up in a children’s home in Glasgow, according to his live act and official biography, and he was raised there. The purpose of developing his skill, he says, was to be able to conceal money, shoplift sweets, and demonstrate his ability in class by swallowing chalk. Starr claims to be the world’s sole professional regurgitator, but comparable performances may be found in both contemporary and historical performance that is connected to the geek show heritage, according to Starr.
In 2010, Starr auditioned for the fourth season of Britain’s Got Talent, where she was unsuccessful. He made an appearance on the episode broadcast on April 24, 2010, swallowing numbered coins and a billiard ball and then regurgitating them on demand and in the proper sequence. To advance to the semifinals, Starr swallowed Amanda Holden’s engagement ring, which was then followed by a padlock and its key, which was then eaten by the judges. He then regurgitated the padlock, which contained the engagement ring, followed by the key, which he had already swallowed. Starr placed fourth in the public vote, and as a result, she did not go to the finals round. He later appeared on the German version of the programme, Das Supertalent, where he sang a song. He finished third in the semi-finals and went on to compete in the final. When he competed in the Czech and Slovak versions of the show in October 2011, he advanced to the final round. In October 2013, Starr made an appearance on the Italian version of the show, where she advanced to the semi-finals.
