Stephen Leonard Mear CBE is a 56 years old English dancer, choreographer, and director who is best known for his award-winning work in musical theatre.

In the 1990s, Mear taught dance at the London Studio Centre, and in 2005 he and co-choreographer Sir Matthew Bourne won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Choreography for their work on the new West End musical Mary Poppins.

Mear was appointed Commander of the British Empire (CBE) Order in the 2020 New Year Honours for dance services. His production later transferred to Broadway in 2006, being nominated for the Tony Award for Best Choreography in 2007.
