On Tuesday, March 5, Sonya Rebecchi of Neighbours gives up her fight with cancer and passes away in her adoring husband Toadie Rebecchi’s arms.
The day after physicians report that the disease has gone to the patient’s brain, there won’t be a dried eye in the home as the big star passes away. She shows there just in time to view her kids from a distance and tells Toadie how much she loves them.
Sonya and Toadie take one last road trip together as her situation worsens, traveling to join the rest of their household at the beach.

The storyline of Neighbours began with Sonya, a character played by Eve Morey, learning she had a malignant cyst on her ovary that had progressed to the rest of her system and had ultimately killed her.
The leading character in this evening’s episode will die in some heartbreaking scenes with her spouse by her side on a beach as they converse while their kids play.
Morey described how, once her departure was official, she had requested that her role died because there was no other option that Sonya and Toadie could be split apart.
However, the Australian actress emphasized that she had no negative emotions about her tenure on the soap opera coming to an end, Express reports.
