Southern Comfort Lodge was established by Lesley and Craig Hunt and officially opened in Dec 1995.

Southern Comfort embodies the spirit of the Zimbabwean bush, and its rolling green lawns, bordered by untouched brush, are home to prolific birdlife, that delights visitors and guests alike. Boasting a thatched cluster of chalets tucked away in a secluded vlei within the suburban limits, it belies any sense of city life. After the rush of a busy day, guests seated out on the patio are treated to a typically beautiful African sunset whilst taking in views across tranquil lily ponds.​
