David Jason and Gill Hinchcliffe’s daughter Sophie Mae Jason is an accomplished actor. David, her father, experienced fatherhood for the first time at the age of 61.
When Sophie was born, David was dating Gill, who was 41 years old at the time. Gill was David’s girlfriend at the time.
She was born in Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Aylesbury on February 26, 2001.
Jason was initially cast in the 1968 Jimmy Perry and David Croft BBC comedy Dad’s Army as Lance Corporal Jones.
The actor had left a lasting impression on Croft, who recognized that he had the skill to portray a character who was considerably older than his actual age.
Bill Cotton, a BBC executive, overruled him and chose Clive Dunn instead because he was more well-known. “I was cast at twelve and sacked at three,” Jason claimed.
