Soham Murders: Where Are Jessica Chapman Parents Sharon & Leslie Chapman Now?

Jessica Chapman was only ten years old in 2002 when she was lured and killed alongside her friend.

The police and locals’ efforts to locate Holly and Jessica are cited as one of the most intense and extensive in British criminal history.

Both were killed on August 4, 2002, but their bodies were discovered on August 17. This year marks the 20th death anniversary of the horrendous incident as their grieving family and well-wishers remember them.

Soham Murders: Jessica Chapman Parents Are Sharon & Leslie Chapman

The long-lost soul of Jessica Chapman left behind her beloved parents, Sharon and Leslie Chapman. The Chapman couple was heartbroken to the core when they encountered her dead body.

Entertainment Daily confirms that Sharon worked at St Andrew’s primary school in Soham, the same school where Maxine Carr worked in Holly and Jessica’s class.

Carr was the girls’ murderer, Ian Huntley’s girlfriend back then. She had even provided a fake alibi for Ian during the initial investigations.

Jessica was the youngest daughter of her parents, and her two older sisters were 17 and 15 at the time of her murder.

The Chapman family was a well-doing family since Leslie worked as an engineer and Sharon was a reputed school staff in the community.

Together, this couple worked hard to provide the best for their three grown daughters.

Where Are Sharon and Leslie Now? What Happened To The Family?

The Chapman family mainly stayed out of the limelight after the death of their youngest daughter and the case’s extensive media coverage.

Sharon and Leslie had usually maintained their privacy and did not interact with the media unless the topic was about Jessica.

August 4 marked a special day for the family since they had just returned from their Menorca vacation.

Jessica had rushed to meet her best friend Holly to attend a barbeque night at her house and present her a necklace with the initial “H” she had bought in Menorca.

Leslie was prepared to start his new job as an engineer the next day, only to lose his daughter forever. The Chapman couple abstained from their jobs after the incident and only returned after some time.

Mr. Chapman started his new job a few months later, while Sharon took years to return to the school.

Since then, they had restricted their contact with the media but broke their silence on the first anniversary of the Police National Database launch.

They hoped other families would not face the same fate as theirs, and the couple has continued their ways of grieving privately.

During their talk, a clip of the evil killer Huntley appearing as an innocent man was shown. The clip enraged the viewers and Twitteratis as they were disgusted by his act.

Huntley was convicted of the double murders and handed down two life sentences with a minimum term of 40 years. Meanwhile, his partner, Maxine Carr, was jailed for three-and-a-half for perverting the course of justice.

Viewers are still disgusted by the fact that both Huntley and Carr had acted in searching for the girls and even provided words of regret to the parents.
