Colesberg is approximately halfway between Johannesburg and Cape Town. It is the ideal stop over place when travelling between Cape Town and Johannesburg.
Colesberg is close to the van der Kloof dam and the Doornkloof Nature Reserve with kudu, brown hyena, mountain Reedbuck, steenbuck, grey duiker, bat-eared fox, aardvark and aardwolf. The Information office can arrange walking tours of the town on request. When you embark on one of these tours, you will see many of the original buildings of Colesberg showing very fine examples of Karoo architecture.
