Skateboarder Ryan Sheckler Has Unique Back And Arm Tattoos By H+H

Ryan Sheckler, an American Skateboarder, is famous for his tattoos and has many stories linked with them. Sheckler has inked his whole body.

Almost all of Sheckler’s body sketches have a story and some reasons behind them. He has so many tattoos one can lose count.

Ryan is an American professional skateboarder and entrepreneur and was the star of the MTV-produced reality television series Life of Ryan.

Additionally, he appeared in four seasons of Red Bull TV’s short-form video series Sheckler Sessions. Sheckler appeared in a Fox Weekly story titled “15 Most Influential Skateboarders of All-Time.”

When asked why he had so much ink in his body, he had a surprising but exciting answer. He said his body would rock back and forth if he didn’t get equal ink on both sides.

For instance, if he gets something on his left, he must also receive something on his right to maintain balance. So when Ryan looked at the tattoo of a claw on his back in the mirror and noticed that the other side was blank, he decided to get the other claw inked.

Ryan Sheckler’s back tattoo, ‘Sheckler,’ was also his first. This ink represents his family, which practically all his family members have on their backs, as his first tattoo.

It took him four hours or even more time. He was always motivated by growing up skateboarding and spending time at events with BMX and motocross riders who had tattoos all over their bodies.

However, none of his family members had tattoos until his father, Randy Sheckler, got one. After that, it was “game on,” as the skateboarder says. He has then inked numerous tattoos.

Furthermore, he said it wasn’t as painful as he had anticipated. Sheckler became obsessed with getting tattoos after that.

According to things, the 32-year-old American skateboarder discussed his several tattoos with Graham Bensinger during his appearance on In Depth with Graham Bensinger in 2021. Even though the entire talk was quite entertaining, there was one part that was even more fascinating.

Sheckler has, after all, made it apparent that he has a particular reason for enjoying tattoos. Of course, he is not the only celebrity with meaningful tattoos, but Ryan’s remarks about the significance of his body art are incredibly intriguing.

He would get hurt, a few weeks would pass, and he would start to want the adrenaline rush of landing a trick, or even just trying one, or tumbling to the ground. The stake board pro said he still had some anxiety before getting a tattoo and compared it to skating.

He, therefore, just made the connection that having tattoos is the same as getting wounded. And Ryan has suffered many injuries, so he is almost filled up.

Ryan Sheckler Body Ink Meaning And Origins

Ryan Sheckler has revealed that his tattoos hold some particular importance and meanings. Every ink in his body has a separate story and origin.

Starting with his back tattoo, Sheckler represents his family and its members.

The skateboarder has inked the words’ Strength & Honor’ on his upper chest. He frequently watched the movie “Gladiator” with his father, in which the slogan “Strength and Honor” was used a lot. So Sheckler and his father would say that to each other before competing in skateboarding competitions.

Ryan eventually suggested to his father that they both get the phrase tattooed. His father initially opposed the idea, but he ultimately agreed to have the tattoo without Ryan. So the 32-year-old pro got a tattoo after seeing his dad’s.

Sheckler has the slogan “Skate and Destroy” inked on his right bicep. The same message is tattooed on Nyjah Huston’s forearm, other professional skateboarder.

“Skate Life” is written on the skateboarding expert’s right arm. In addition, there is a tattoo of a dark star supporting a skyline just above his elbow.

Sheckler claims it is one of his most significant tattoos because it perfectly captures his identity. Every time he goes skating, he anticipates returning reasonably battered and bruised; it’s just part of his skate life.

The most significant individuals in Ryan Sheckler’s life are honored with a few tattoos. His brother’s name, “Kane,” is inked on one of his wrists, while his other brother’s name, “Shane,” is inked on another wrist.

Additionally, he received a portion of his grandma’s name, “OLETA,” in her memory following her passing.

Ryan has a red diamond inked on the inside of his right arm. Additionally, the word “Fear” is painted on his arm immediately above the diamond. Sheckler noted that because he travels with the Bible, his life tends to become overly preoccupied. So he got such tattoos to serve as a constant reminder to himself that it is God’s will.

He has a tattoo of an American eagle on his chest. Ryan told Inked a funny tale about how he came to have his tattoo.

Sheckler acknowledged in an interview that his goal in visiting Brad Reis was to get an eagle painted on the front of his shin. Reis asked him to display his chest after glancing at his leg and drawing an eagle. He spent 12 to 13 hours creating that design.

Ryan Sheckler’s Favourite Tattoo

Ryan Sheckler has ‘JESUS CHRIST’ tattooed on both hands, one of his favorite body art pieces. It was done by the tattoo artist Franco Vescovi, with whom he frequently collaborates with.

Using the same needle, Vescovi also inked the Virgin Mary on the back of his right hand. The San Clemente tattoo on Ryan Sheckler’s back is one of his other favorites. It stands for his permanent life on the road and his home life.

Ryan’s body is covered in numerous other dark tattoos, such as the word “tomorrow” on his arm, a skull with wings, a picture of Jesus Christ, a skateboard, numbers, an armed bomb, and many more.

Ryan Sheckler Does Not Regret His Tattoos

Ryan Sheckler claims that he has no regrets about having any of his tattoos. On the contrary, he is happy with every one of the arts.

Each of his tattoos serves as a story to him. Most of them make him think about his earlier experiences. For instance, the tattoo of the letters “JETLAG” on a travel bag on his right arm makes him think of Las Vegas.

On an In-Depth episode with Graham Bensinger, Ryan talked to Graham about his vacation to Las Vegas and his tattoos and wounds. He added that he arrived in Australia the first-day jet lagged.

Sheckler, therefore, considered having a tattoo depicting jet lag. He immediately went to his tattoo artist and had it done. Just below his Jetlag tattoo, he inked the word “Day 1.”

He uses his tattoos as a substitute for an adrenaline boost when an injury prevents him from skateboarding. He gets a fresh tattoo whenever he is injured.

Furthermore, he says that if he goes bald in the future, he has an 80% chance of having a skull tattoo on his head. He aspires to be a grandfather with a full head of tattoos.
