From 1997 to 1999, Saum began her acting career as Vanessa Hart in the NBC daytime soap opera, Sunset Beach, during the entire series run. Later in 1999, Saum was cast as a regular series on Girlfriends and Charmed in the Showtime comedy-drama series Beggars and Choosers. Saum has played Natalie’s part in the FX drama series Rescue Me from 2006 to 2007. She played Bess’ regular series role in Season 2 of the HBO drama series In Care in 2009.
