Parsons used to be a night time owl. But now on Fox 12, she’s a proud early riser as an anchor on Emmy’s award-winning Good Day Oregon each morning. Bonus: each weekend she gets a quiet house to herself while her family sleeps in, and can binge-watch all of the shows that come on after her bedtime, in peace!
Parsons began her career at KSTU-Fox 13 at Salt Lake City, Utah. She’ll never forget the moment her News Director, as an intern, asked her if she could report. Her answer, “Yes I can! “Parsons began reporting while working as a substitute teacher to pay the bills simultaneously. Once her internship was over, Parsons was officially hired as a reporter, which then led to a job as a weekend anchor, before launching that station’s first-morning newscast.
Parsons spent the first 13 years anchoring the 10 O’Clock News with Wayne Garcia in Portland, before transitioning from late nights to early evenings, anchoring the 5 and 6 O’Clock newscasts in solo. Ultimately, Parsons went back to her roots in the morning and joined the Oregon Good Day team. Each morning from 4:30 to 9 am she joins Kimberly Maus, Andy Carson, and Tony Martinez.
