Shaun Hill started his career as a quarterback and free safety for the Parsons Senior High School football team. He was a two-time All-Southeast Kansas League first team selection and All-State honorable mention as a senior.

He spent two years at Hutchinson Community College and played as quarterback. Hill earned honorable mention All-American honors. He moved to Maryland Terrapins on his junior year. While with the team, they won the Atlantic Coast Conference title in 2001. He finished his Maryland career with 3,158 yards and 19 touchdowns.

Hill joined for the Minnesota Vikings as free agent in 2002 and spent with the team until 2005. He went to NFL Europe and played for Amsterdam Europe in 2003. After his first stint with the Vikings, he joined the San Francisco 49ers in 2006.

He has been with other teams such as Detroit Lions, and St. Louis Rams. Hill returned to the Vikings in 2015.
