Kristin Nelson (née Sharon Kristin Harmon; June 25, 1945) is an American primitive painter, actress, and novelist who was formerly married to actor and musician Ricky Nelson. Kristin Nelson is the daughter of the actor and musician Ricky Nelson. She is the elder sister of model-actress Kelly Harmon and actor Mark Harmon. She is the daughter of American football player Tom Harmon and actress Elyse Knox, and the younger sister of actor Mark Harmon. She married Nelson in 1963 and went on to work as a television host for their family programme. They had four children, but because of Nelson’s expensive lifestyle, he was obliged to travel for extended periods of time, putting a tremendous deal of strain on their marriage.
Nelson died in an aeroplane accident in 1985, and the divorce was ultimately finalised before Nelson’s death. She married Mark Tinker in 1988, and he was the one who pushed her to pursue painting. Her vividly coloured primitives were popular among celebrities like as Jacqueline Kennedy and Mia Farrow, and they served as the inspiration for her coffee-table memoirs, Out of My Mind, which was published in 2010.
