Dawood and his family left their London home and traveled across Canada for a month. Over the Father’s Day weekend, Shahzada made plans for him and his son Suleman to board the Titan submarine. Shahzada has a lifelong passion for science and exploration in addition to being a passionate Titanic aficionado.
Their objective was to visit the Titanic’s wreckage, which was in the North Atlantic Ocean when it sank in 1912 after colliding with an iceberg. They planned to descend to a depth of 3,800 meters (12,500 feet) during the eight-hour dive. On June 18, 2023, in the morning, the descent began.
Unfortunately, approximately an hour and a half into the dive, the Titan lost touch with the MV Polar Prince, the surface ship. For the massive search and rescue operations, the United States, Canada, and France all contributed water and air support.
Around 490 meters (1,600 feet) off the Titanic’s bow, on June 22, 2023, the United States Coast Guard reported the discovery of wreckage. It was claimed that the debris was evidence of a disastrous pressure chamber collapse.
It was established that all of the Titan’s passengers—including Dawood, his son, Hamish Harding, Paul-Henri Nargeolet, and OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush—had tragically perished in the incident.

At the time of his death, Shahzada Dawood was a father to two children. His children are Suleman Dawood and Alina Dawood. Alina is a mysterious figure, yet Suleman was there when he died. Suleman also worked as a crew member on the submersible OceanGate.
