Sev Side Gang: Origin And History
Sev Side gang began as an alliance to take power and make control in the Bronx hood.
The area is also known as Little Italy which used to be controlled by Italian mafias and mobs. But, later, upon the arrival of more African Americans and Hispanics in the area in the mid-90s, the mobs left only to be controlled by EHB.
Later, Sev Side (E 187 St), Third Side and ReyWay formed an alliance known as DOA to take the charge of the beef (slang for dispute and fight), since Bloods and Crips have always been in conflict.
Forming a nexus of local street gangs, DOA created terror in the neighborhood, fighting against the rival street gangs. They have also been promoting songs showcasing gangs, guns and cash; their gangsta rap has also been accused of making reference to real acts of violence.
Perez has been charged with gang-related murder and other members from Sev Side and Third Side have been charged with other serious crimes and assaults: including attempted murder and assault, firearm possession and racketeering conspiracy.
Other Gangs Like Sev Side
Sev Side is perhaps the most known among the Bronx hood because of the drill rap artists and recent news. But, there are other gangs too that separate themselves.
Third Side
The Third Side is another hood in the Bronx and is the closest ally of the Sev Side gang. It is just a block away from Sev Side; it is 183rd Street. Zay Munna, and Dougie belong to this street gang.
Mac Baller Brims
Mac Baller Brims are another Bronx-based blood gang. They also have faced legal charges for robbery and murder, and for gun violence often done to show their power and preserve their territory.
They also have been involved in drug trafficking and drug-related crime, led by Derrick Casado and Carlos Rosario.
Sev Side and Instagram Hashtag
Sev Side Instagram hashtag is concentrated on rapper Kay Flock. Sev Side has also been parallelly associated with the New York drill music scene.
Because of the recent crackdown on the members of the Sev Side and Third Side gangs members, people have reacted to it differently, with some posts supporting Kay Flock’s old performances.
Sev Side has become a symbol for Bronx drill music and gangsta music, and many Instagram posts are about posing cash and drill swaggers.
