In a YouTube interview, Morrison said he heard about Skillet looking for a new guitarist so he contacted his friend Tim Rosenau (Guitarist for tobyMac) asking for more information. From there Rosenau asked TobyMac, however, there was never a reply back from Rosenau. Later Morrison received an email from the Skillet’s manager, Scotty Rock, asking for photos, certain songs, and Morrison’s testimony. Later Morrison received a phone call from an area code he wasn’t familiar with so he left the call alone but claimed he had a “felt led” to call back the number. The phone call led to the voice mail of Scotty Rock who later called back Morrison were John Cooper joined in on the conversation asking Morrison to fly out where he had only a week to prepare himself and learn the songs.
