Biography of Serpentwithfeet
Serpentwithfeet was born Josiah Wise on July 9, 1988, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was raised in a Christian family with a mother who was a church choir leader and a father who ran a Christian bookstore.
Due to his background, he started singing in church since childhood in the Maryland State Boys Choir which would later help him channel his creativity. He wanted to become a classical singer, but he was not accepted when he applied to conservatories. He was educated at the University of the Arts and later moved to Philadelphia.
When he was in college studying classical voice techniques, he revealed that he was not very close to outstanding in his class or even the top. However, he has been working on his art well since leaving school, which has helped him succeed.
Career-wise, he didn’t get his break sooner than a few others who made it all smooth from the start. However, it has a style that is enduring. He brings together his Christian background in his music.
At first, he spent a few years in Philadelphia, where he sang in different bands, although he didn’t really belong there because of his rather deep voice.
