Seattle Seahawks Quarterback Geno Smith Comes From An Athletic Family

Eugene Cyril “Geno” Smith III, a well-known American football player, is the quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks in the National Football League (NFL). Before taking over as the Seahawks’ starting quarterback, he also served as the team’s backup quarterback for the New York Giants, Los Angeles Chargers, and Seattle Seahawks.

Before being selected by the New York Jets in the 2nd round of the 2013 NFL Draft, he played college football for West Virginia, where he helped the Mountaineers win multiple bowl games, set various passing records, and numerous honors.

Smith spent his final two years with the Jets as the team’s starting quarterback after two disappointing seasons, but injuries ultimately cost him the job. Smith was given a chance to participate at the NFL Scouting Combine, where scouts praised his agility and powerful arm but remarked that his ball placement required work.

Geno Smith Parents: Mother Tracey & Father Eugene Smith Jr

The American football quarterback player was born on October 10, 1990, to his parents, Tracey Sellers, his mother, and Eugene Smith Jr, his father.

His father made sure he attended every one of Geno’s games as soon as he started to make a name for himself in college football. Smith Jr. knew that his field participation would encourage his athletic son.

Geno was always loved and supported by his parents to receive the proper training needed to excel in his career. His father was even threatened to be killed back in 2017 when Geno was selected to play as the team’s starter for its Week 13 game against the Oakland Raiders.

Nothing could stop his parents from supporting their son in his professional career. As a result, Geno has been able to be well-recognized as a quarterback football player.

Geno is available on the social media platform Instagram under the username @geno_smith_the_goat and has more than 1500 followers there. But he has not been seen posting any posts relating to his parents.

Geno Grew Up With A Brother Named Geonte: Does He Have A Sister?

Geno’s parents have gifted him with a younger brother named Geonte Smith, with whom the quarterback player has spent his childhood together. By choosing a career in football, his sibling has likewise followed in his footsteps.

Geonte is preparing to play as a receiver rather than a quarterback. He thinks that if he can achieve as much as his elder brother Geno in his early days, it will be amazing. He even played high school football at Geno’s former school, Miramar High.

The celebrity sibling has mentioned that he is often referred to be junior Geno in his high school, and even his coach calls him that. He feels proud and simply chuckles at the fact. He feels more motivated and considers his brother to be his aspiration to pursue a career in football.

Geonte’s elder brother, Geno, was accepted into the magnet program at Norland Middle School, where two hours each day were devoted to arts education. He later enrolled at Miramar High School, where former Mountaineer Damon Cogdell served as his coach.

He was also recognized as a second-team athlete for Broward County in 2007. He received an invitation to the famous Elite 11 quarterback camp in Aliso Viejo, California, after his junior year.

Here Is What We Know About Geno’s Family

Geno Smith was raised in a family that had a history of sports. His ancestors were mostly well-known athletes with a long history in the sports industry. The 31-years old athlete was named Geno after his grandfather’s nickname, “Big Geno.”

His great-uncle Danny Smith set numerous records as an All-American hurdler at Florida State. His great-grandfather, Cyril Smith, was renowned for bodybuilding and boxing. Melvin Bratton, Geno’s cousin, played football in the middle of the 1980s and was a standout running back for Miami.

Geno also has a wife and a child in his family. The famous quarterback player is married to his college sweetheart Hayley Eastham. While still a student attorney, Hayley worked on initiatives involving the defense of juvenile rights.

Smith’s girlfriend, who later became his wife, also held positions as a Business Analyst, Sales Team Leader, Summer Law Clerk, and Judicial Extern. She started working as a Patent Litigation Associate for Caldwell Cassady and Curry PC after receiving her degree from college.

His wife, Hayley, was with Geno from his struggling days in college football. On July 20, 2015, Hayley and Smith exchanged vows two years after Smith was selected in the NFL draft.

Geno also has been blessed with an adorable son named Seven Santana Smith. His son is from a woman named Destani and not with his wife.
