Saving Hope synopsis, TV summary and spoiler

As charismatic Chief of Surgery Charlie Harris (Shanks) at Hope-Zion Hospital ends up in a coma in “Saving Hope” he exits the hospital in chaos and in a state of disbelief with his fiancee and fellow physician, Alex Reid (Durance.). Reid rushes to save the life of Harris, along with the recently arrived celebrity surgeon, Joel Goran (Gillies). As the action continues, in “spirit” shape, the comatose Harris enters the hospital corridors, not knowing if he is a phantom or a figment of his own imagination.

In a constant fight to hold hope intact, Reid and her fellow physicians push ahead to save his life and that of their other patients as they cope with the difficult and brave choices that are made.

It’s a moment of fresh beginnings for the doctors at Hope Zion Hospital after the surprising finale of last season. As the employees of the Hope Zion Hospital begin to cope with the consequences of their colleague and friend’s passing, following her maternity leave, Alex is back at work while she works to manage motherhood and a busy OR, while Dr. Charlie Harris (Michael Shanks) tends to be plagued by his ghost-seeing powers and the issue of whether or not he is the biological father of baby Luke. Dr. Zach Miller (Benjamin Ayres) is also unable to deal with his near friend’s tragic demise, and Dr. Maggie Lin (Julia Taylor Ross) is worried of where she falls in Hope Zion Hospital’s modern environment. Dr. Dawn Bell (Michelle Nolden) Chief of Surgery strives to hold a cap on the hospital, Dr. Shahir Hamza (Huse Madhavji) forms a shocking new relationship, and in a traumatizing situation that strikes a bit too close to home, Dr. Dana Kinney (Wendy Crewson) finds a greater calling.

The 4th season of ‘Keeping Hope’ sets the scene for a path through an ever-evolving Hope Zion Hospital that will begin to test its physicians, knocking their pillars down to their heart in certain situations.
