Saudi Arabia Limits Multiple-Entry Visas For Travelers From 14 Nations

Saudi Arabia has declared significant modifications to its visa guidelines, affecting travelers from 14 nations. Beginning on February 1, 2025, guests from these countries will be limited to single-entry visas, highlighting a pivotal adjustment in travel laws. This determination intends to control unapproved Hajj pilgrimages and ensure the security and health of pilgrims.

Countries Affected

The new law is applied to guests from the following nations:

  1. Yemen
  2. Sudan
  3. Nigeria
  4. Tunisia
  5. Pakistan
  6. India
  7. Morocco
  8. Indonesia
  9. Jordan
  10. Iraq
  11. Algeria
  12. Ethiopia
  13. Bangladesh
  14. Egypt

Saudi Arabia has permanently suspended the 12-month multiple-entry visa for tourists from these countries who want to visit the country for tourism, business, or family reasons.

Major Visa Changes

  • Only single-entry visas will be provided to travelers from the impacted nations.
  • The visa will be authentic for one month, with a maximum stay of one month.
  • Diplomatic, Hajj, Residency, and Umrah visas stay unimpacted.

Reasons For The Change

The Saudi government has declared that multiple-entry visas were being mismanaged. Most travelers entered the nation on long-term visas; however, some stayed unlawfully for employment or performed Hajj without adequate approval.

The Saudi authority strictly regulates Hajj, sharing a pilgrimage quota with each nation. Hence, overcrowding has become a severe problem because unapproved pilgrims use long-term visit visas to prevent limitations.

This problem became alarming in 2024 when more than 1,200 pilgrims passed on due to severe heat and overcrowding. Governments assumed unenrolled pilgrims contributed significantly to the issues, demanding more stringent visa laws.

By limiting trips to single-entry visas, the authority intends to ensure that only approved pilgrims perform the Hajj, decreasing threats related to unregulated attendance.

Temporary Or Permanent

Saudi officers have explained the halt of multiple-entry visas as short-term, but no duration has been given for its check. The authority will evaluate the policy’s effect before determining further efforts.

What Travelers Should Know

Travelers from the impacted nations intending to visit Saudi Arabia must know these modifications and plan their travels accordingly. Below is what you are required to understand:

  • Apply on time: Apply for your single-entry visa well before your planned travel dates.
  • Stringent compliance with laws: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs requires all guests to comply with the new visa laws to prevent penalties or travel distractions.
  • Adherence is the key: To deter problems during travel and stay, travelers from the affected countries must adhere to Saudi Arabia’s stringent immigration rules.

For the current visa updates, travelers must check the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs web page before making travel plans.

This policy mainly affects visitors from 14 countries, primarily people traveling for business or family visits. While the authority declares that the standard is temporary, travelers must prepare for long-term limitations and plan their travels accordingly.
