Sara Louise Blizzard (born 1970 in Coventry) is a weather presenter for the East Midlands Today television station in England. In addition to Midlands Today and BBC North West Tonight, Blizzard also delivers the weather predictions on other stations. In her early years, she attended the private Pattison College school in east Coventry, where she received dance and drama training. Her radio broadcasting career started when she hosted a Sunday afternoon show on the hospital radio station at Walsgrave General Hospital in Coventry, where she first met her husband. The next year, she began working at the Mercia FM studios, where she was in charge of presenting the nighttime Nightbeat show, which was aired on Leicester Sound. In March 1994, she joined the morning programme of Leicester Sound, where she also hosted a Sunday afternoon show. Later that year, she joined Guy Morris and Guy Harris on the show, which she hosted for three years.
She made a presentation with Gary Burton in 1997. In late 1997, she began working as a news reporter for L!VE TV in Liverpool, where she hosted and produced shows such as Vets and Pets, Live Drive, and Merseybeat, a Crimestoppers programme in partnership with the Merseyside Police Force. She began working for East Midlands Today as a weather presenter in March 1999, and she has been forecasting the weather for the last decade. Her voice may be heard on the Trafficmaster in-car information system, which she created. Lady Margaret Beaufort, portrayed by Amanda Hale in the BBC drama The White Queen (TV series), was recently seen with Blizzard in the role of a lady in waiting to Lady Margaret Beaufort. Sara had this to say about Hale: “There was never a boring time in the house. She could usually be seen with a Murray Mint in her mouth!”
