Samuel Anthony Alito Jr. is an American lawyer and jurist who serves as an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. He was nominated by President George W. Bush on October 31, 2005, and has served since January 31, 2006. Samuel Alito is married to Martha Bomgardner. They married in the year 1985 and have been together till now.
Who is Martha Bomgardner?
Martha-Ann Bomgardner is a Kentucky native and graduated from the University of Kentucky. She was once a law librarian and met her future husband Samuel in the library as he would visit regularly as a law clerk.
However, she revealed he was very shy and it took him 13 months to ask her out. They dated for a year before he got an offer from the US solicitor general and moved to Washington in August 1981.
Martha-Ann also worked at the US Attorney’s Office. She revealed in an interview with The Washington Post that her husband likes Beethoven and Springsteen, but she forces him to listen to Scarlatti and Bach.
