Sam’s General Biography, Everything You Need to Know About YouTube Star

There are so many YouTubers trying to make a career out of their vlogging exploits that keeping track of all of them is impossible. General Sam may not have the kind of following boasted by the crème de la crème on the video streaming platform, however, he’s certainly a massive hit in his own right.

General Sam has been on the platform for a long time and has built a loyal subscriber base. On his channel, he mainly uploads videos of his gameplay. What really excites him for his fans is his dry humor-laden and often self-deprecating commentary that always leaves his fans in shock.

Biography of General Sam

The comedic YouTube vlogger was born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida. He came into the world on August 5, 1991. Sam decided to make himself known only as the game streamer and YouTube personality. Therefore, he didn’t let anything slip about his youth and childhood with his parents and siblings. He also did not reveal details of his schooling and degrees, if any.

General Sam, whose real name remains unknown, has been on the platform for a long time. It’s unclear when it started, however, but the YouTuber runs a self-titled channel and it wasn’t the first. He had a previous channel which he ran for a while until it was shut down by YouTube.

He didn’t give up or skip a step. He started his General Sam channel on the same day the old one was shut down, and uploaded his first video on the same day – January 25, 2013. By June 2019, the channel had racked up well over 700,000 subscribers and more than 137,000,000 total views. Sam is also active on Twitch under the handle GeneralSam123

It is unknown when he got married, but General Sam is the husband of his wife who is known only as Abby. Together, they welcomed their first child, a daughter named Madeline, in July 2018.

All about YouTube Star

1. He uploaded over 700 videos in less than six years

General Sam is known by his fans for his dedication to creating the content they love. Although his channel is primarily a gaming channel, the YouTuber sometimes breaks away from the character to create videos with a story-time feel that give his viewers a bit more insight into his life and thought process.

For the first six years since he started General Sam, he has uploaded over 700 videos. A reasonable number of these videos have also garnered millions of views individually. His most popular video for a while was “Skyrim: The Last Enemy That Shall Be Destroyed”. The video was uploaded on April 8, 2014. Four years later, on April 6, 2018, he uploaded “Things You Can Only Do In Skyrim VR” and in less than a year, it topped the old video as the most viewed.

2. He had a case of temporal erectile dysfunction at age 23

During an eye check, it was discovered that he had unusually high blood pressure for someone his age. On the advice of some medical professionals, he made an appointment for an examination.

After a full body examination and confirmation that all other things were at normal levels, the doctor prescribed General Sam lisinopril to help lower his blood pressure. He thought that was the end of his problems. However, a week later, while trying to make love to his wife, he was unable to get an erection. A little research revealed that about 20% of people who take lisinopril suffer from erectile dysfunction, which the doctor neglected to tell him. He disappeared after a while.

3. Sam hiked the Appalachian Trail twice

In 2017, Sam’s brother dragged him along on his adventure through the Appalachian Trail. It was not a pleasant experience for the YouTuber. They hadn’t even left the trail before he got sick and started throwing up.

However, he did not give up. Two years later, sometime in 2019, General Sam and his brother backpacked again and set off on another Appalachian Trail adventure. This time they decided to cover more than double the distance they covered on their first adventure. Sam was also unprepared last time, so this time he decided to pack. He brought with him plenty of food, toilet paper, and a varied assortment of hiking gear.

However, the hike ended up being longer than last time. They only hiked 16 miles of the planned 80 miles and eventually had to abandon the hike due to tornado warnings. He uploaded a video documenting the adventure on his channel. The video titled “Thicc Guys N Moonpies” was uploaded on April 24, 2019.
