Sam covered the Vietnam War for ABC News in 1971. From 1973 to 1974, he became ABC’s chief Watergate correspondent, where he covered the trial of the Senate Watergate hearings, the Watergate burglars and the House Judiciary Committee’s impeachment investigation of President Nixon.
