In addition to singles and albums of operatic and pop music, Russell Watson (born 23 November 1966) is an English tenor who has performed in a variety of venues. Since he was a kid, the self-styled “People’s Tenor” has been singing professionally, and he first gained public attention while playing at a working men’s club. When he sang “God Save the Queen” at the Rugby League Challenge Cup Final at Wembley Stadium in 1999, he gained widespread attention. He also sang “Barcelona” at the final Premiership match of the season between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford, as well as a full set of songs at the 1999 UEFA Champions League Final between Manchester United and Bayern Munich in Barcelona, gaining widespread attention. Watson’s first album, The Voice, was published in May 2001, and four more albums were released after that.
However, owing to the excision of a benign pituitary tumour, the release of an album scheduled for November 2006 has been postponed. This album, named That’s Life, was finally published on March 5, 2007, after a long delay. Upon further investigation, it was found that his pituitary tumour had grown and that there had been bleeding into his brain on the 24th of October, 2007. He was sent to the hospital for emergency surgery and was released from the facility on October 31. An comprehensive rehabilitation regimen, which included radiation, was implemented for him. Outside In, his sixth studio album, was released on November 26, 2007, and is his most recent release. Watson released his debut album, La Voce, on November 22, 2010, marking his first release after surviving brain cancer.
