Rupert Evans is a British-born actor who rose to prominence as FBI agent John Myers in director Guillermo del Toro’s 2004 adaptation of Mike Mignola’s comic book, Hellboy.
Rupert was born in Staffordshire, England on March 9, 1976. He studied at an independent boarding school (Bilton Grange School) in the village of Dunchurch, near the market town of Rugby, Warwickshire, in the English region of the West Midlands.
He then moved to Milton Abbey School, another boarding school in the village of Milton Abbas, near the market town of Blandford Forum in Dorset, south-west England. His professional studies took place at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in South Kensington, London.

Rupert appeared in Agora, filmed in Malta with Rachel Weisz and Max Minghella. He played the role of Edmund Allingham in the BBC’s The Village. He starred as Elliot Howe in Rogue; as Peter Fleming in Fleming: The Man Who Would Be a Link; and as Brother Godwyn in World Without End.
He also starred in the ITV sitcom High Stakes with Richard Wilson and Paradise Heights, the BBC drama starring Neil Morrissey. Evans had a leading role in the Amazon series, The Man in the High Castle.
Over the years, he has proven his versatility trying to perform as a voice actor. He has also voiced characters in video games like QUBE and audiobook, Countermeasures.
Evans has also during her career featured in many theatrical productions, mostly portraying classic English roles. He starred in a cast of Romeo and Juliet in 2006 as Romeo. Rupert is a very interesting character with an insatiable quest for adventure; he proudly showed his scars from incidents such as falling walls. One of the many scars on his body is from a lion bite. In Zimbabwe, at the age of 14, he bravely petted a sleeping lion. It backfired when the lion expressed his displeasure at having his sleep interrupted.
He is also an avowed drug addict and is generally keen on the technology used in filming. His favorite gadgets are Tivoli audio digital radios and he claims to have a DAB in every room of his flat. Rupert is also a huge fan of computer games, admitting to being addicted to the Tiger Woods Golf game at one point. He said
I would be up until 3am every night and it would have ruined my life, so I had to be careful and give it up.
Although vast in the workings of the internet, Rupert refuses to Google himself, as other celebrities usually do.

There has been a lot of speculation about Rupert’s sexuality. One thing is certain, he is not gay! He is one of the few celebrities who managed to protect his private life from the prying eyes of the media. He has never spoken openly about his love life in any interview, except when he mentioned having a girlfriend in passing to describe his love for video games. He added that his “girlfriend” was generally upset that he was addicted to gambling.
The only time he was spotted with a “date” at an event was at the Los Angeles premiere when he appeared in the movie “Hellboy” on March 30, 2004. He ended up on the red carpet with actress Lyndsey Marshal, who was reportedly his girlfriend.
