Rose Muhando News
Rose Muhando praises Uhuru in new song
Tanzanian gospel artiste Rose Muhando on Tuesday uploaded a song that praises President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Republic of Kenya.
She thanked the country for welcoming her and saving her life when she was unwell and asked God to continue blessing the country’s leaders.
“You opened your doors and welcomed me with open arms. Kenya was gracious to me.“I don’t know how I will repay your kindness because I am not wealthy but may God bless Kenya,” she sings.
Muhando had been in Kenya for a while but faced a number of challenges that threatened to end her music career.
In November 2018, the Tanzania Music Foundation (TAMUFO) issued a statement asking for the singer to be flown back to her home country for treatment.
This was after a video of Muhando being ‘exorcised’ at a Nairobi church surfaced online.
The gospel artiste was once the talk of the town especially after her song Nibebe took the airwaves by storm.
Allegations of drug addiction and abortion have tainted her image since, and in the video that was recorded at Neno Evangelism Centre, Apostle James Ng’ang’ an ordered the demons that were tormenting her to come out.
Rose Muhando In Hospital
Her spokesperson Daud Mashimo says the “Nibebe” hit-maker had been hospitalized after her health status worsened.
“She needs to be closely monitored and taken care of by her relatives, who are in Tanzania. We all know that she only went to Kenya for work-related engagements; Tanzania is where she belongs. And, honestly speaking, the [Tanzanian] Government needs to help her secure a return to the country. She has asked me to appeal to the State on her behalf. Up to now, she is still hospitalized in Kenya,” says Mashimo in an interview with Tanzania news outlet.
“Rose Muhando has also requested Tanzanians to pray for her during this hard time. She hopes to fully recover and bounce back bigger and bolder in the music industry,” adds the musician’s representative.
The development comes more than a week after a video of controversial Kenyan preacher, pastor James Ng’ang’ an of Neno Evangelism apparently casting demons out of Muhando went viral on social media.
In the video, the award-winning singer accuses her former manager of bewitching her in order to derail her music career.
Last week, reports surfaced on social media claiming that the singer had been rushed to a Nairobi hospital while in critical condition.
Kenyan gospel musician Stephen Kasolo has reportedly been facilitating Muhando’s stay in Kenya for several weeks.
Is Rose Muhando Alive?
Rumors have been rife that Tanzanian gospel singer Rose Muhando is about to breathe her last. It is also alleged she is deep into drugs. Speaking to Heads Up, Rose has denied the rumors.
“I am very healthy and going about my life. Tanzanian media is determined to tarnish my name and I don’t know why. I have even been attending meetings and working on my comeback,” she said.
Muhando disclosed that she had contracted a ‘strange illness’ and promised to make it public once the diagnosis was out.
“I was suffering from a strange disease that caused my legs to swell for three months. I will bring evidence from the doctor for you to understand that I’m not 18,” she said.
Rose Muhando finally recovers
Rose Muhando is back to the limelight, looking much better and healthy.
She made the headlines a few months ago after a disturbing video surfaced online allegedly of 10 demons talking about how they destroyed the gospel star’s career.
Rose had been down on her luck and in that video, she looked like a shadow of her former self with bruises on her feet and a bandaged left hand.
“She has been around but she has not been feeling well. For about four months she has been in the hospital, but the people around her do not want to reveal which hospital for now,” Betty told Word Is.
“She is healed and the bruises she had on the hands are completely healed.”

Video of ‘demons being exorcised out of Rose Muhando’ emerges online
A video has emerged online purporting to show the exorcism of a woman believed to be Tanzanian gospel songbird Rose Muhando.
The exorcism starts after the woman is called to the altar by Pastor James Ng’ang’ a of Neno Evangelism Centre, Nairobi.
“Rose nilikuambia ukuje, Kuja hapa, kwa nini wanavunja vunja wewe mkono? How? Oh no, it can’t be that. Touch!” Called out Pastor Ng’ang’ a.
Soon, the camera pans to a lady with a bandaged hand stepping forward from the congregation to the pulpit but starts screaming and rolling menacingly after being prayed for by the preacher.
“Come out! Wachilia maisha, kimbia na uende, kimbia, toa mishipa yako, toa… Holy Ghost Fire!!Ra ka ka ka! Somebody say fire! Mwambie aende, hama, hama, achilia yeye, achilia,” pressed Ng’ang’a.
Minutes later, Nga’ng’ steps to where she is, forces her mouth wide open while asking the spirits to come out.
‘Rose’ then starts revealing what the demons that possessed her had done.
“Ni maneja wake ndo walituma sisi. Tukachukua gari zake zote. Tukachukua vitu vyake vyote. Tumemtoa nyumbani miezi tatu sasa, asirudi nyumbani.”
“How many are you?” he posed.
“Tuko kumi,” and went on, “Tumesema asiimbe tena, tumemvalisha kinyago asiimbe tena. Akiimba atatuharibia.”
When she finally stands after being delivered, ‘Rose’ tells the church…
“Namshukuru mungu, nilichoka, mchungaji nilichoka. Miezi sita siko nyumbani kwangu, wamenitengeza kila kesi, wamechukua magari yangu yote. Mtoto wangu yule alikua anasoma chuo kikuu ako nyumbani. Nimeshindwa ata school fees ya kupeleka watoto wangu chuo… sina ata mtu wa kwenda kumwambia chochote, wameshirikiana na ndugu zangu, shemeji yangu akasema akienda huko akirudi namwesabia siku” she narrated.
After the delivery Pastor Ng’ang’ tells the church that she is indeed the Nibebe hitmaker, Rose Muhando.
“Usisahau huyu ni Rose Muhando, aliyevuma. Wamemchoma mikono, wamemharibu uso. Ameingia ofisi yangu nikamwambia no no no nikamwambia twende kwa ibada, nikampa Sh5, 000 sikuamini ni Rose Muhando,” explained Ng’ang’a.
The seven-minute video was posted on November 20 and has already garnered 8,035 views.
Photo of Rose Muhando looking completely emaciated appears months after she went underground
This photo of her looking completely frail and unwell surfaced on the internet causing her fans to question her well being
Rose Muhando was a hitmaker back in the day and her music would play in matatus, households and sometimes nightclubs. Her career, however, took the plunge when she started gracing headlines for extremely disturbing reasons.
A photo of her recently made rounds on Facebook and it goes without saying. The lady seems to be going through a harrowing experience. Her hand appeared to be bandaged up and her skin was covered in blemish and what appeared as wounds.
Initially, rumors were rife the former Tanzanian sensation had bleached her skin. Netizens concluded the products the Nibebe hitmaker allegedly used to lighten her skin might have just stopped serving their purpose. The poor lady looked weak and completely emaciated as she clutched onto a microphone and stood barefoot.
Muhando: I have no choice but to move to Kenya
“Utamu wa Yesu” hitmaker Rose Muhando is in trouble. So much so that she is considering abandoning her motherland Tanzania for Kenya. She wants to move here for good in search of “peace and happiness”.
Over the last three years, Muhando has been hitting the headlines for the wrong reasons. With all kinds of controversies, ranging from drug abuse, abortion, and sexual harassment. To shady business deals and death threats among others, rather than for the music that catapulted her to fame in 2003.
Speaking to Nation.co.ke on Thursday, the once energetic performer, who started her musical career that has now crumbled as a choir teacher, confirmed that she is making the big move to Kenya.
In a shaky voice devoid of the energy and enthusiasm that punctuate most of her songs like “Nibebe” and “Utamu wa Yesu”, Muhando said she has been left with no choice but to move to Kenya for good in an effort to escape her problems, especially the death threats.
“Kweli nahamia Kenya kabisa. Nimechoka kuishi Maisha ya mashaka, kutishiwa Maisha. Sina Raha kabisa, Sina Amani hata mbingu zinajua” (Yes, it is true that I am relocating to Kenya for good. I am tired of living a life full of doubt and worry, full of death threats. I am so unhappy and I do not have peace, even the heavens know that.)…,” she said before disconnecting the call and switching off her phone.
Tanzanian newspaper Ijumaa Wikienda interviewed her on Monday and quotes her as having said she had recently received death threats from a bishop who she said has been sexually harassing her and wants her to give in to his sex demands or he would take her out.
In the interview, Muhando claims the bishop wants sexual favors as repayment for helping her out financially with her music career.
The musician claims that her efforts to report the bishop to security authorities have been futile because the man of the cloth is well connected politically, besides being wealthy.
It couldn’t be immediately confirmed if this is the same bishop who in April was reported to be looking to take her to rehab when she disappeared from her Ipagala residence in Dodoma.
The singer recently relocated from Dar es Salaam to her home town of Dodoma.
Time and again, Muhando has denied claims that she is abusing drugs, something that many speculate has led to the decline of her once flourishing music career.
Muhando lays the blame for her troubles squarely on the bishop’s shoulders. She said as much in her interview with Ijumaa Wikienda.
“Kwa kuwa anafahamiana na polisi, wakuu wa vituo vya polisi na viongozi wa dini, inakuwa rahisi kunisingizia mambo mengi machafu (The policemen and religious leaders are his close allies, so nothing can be done against him. It is easy for him to take my name through the mud and say scandalous things too).
She also vehemently denied claims that she abuses drugs:
“Situmii madawa ya kulevya na sitatumia, kama Aliona ndiyo skendo itakayonimaliza, najua atashindwa, alitaka niwe mtu wake wa ngono na wa kumtajirisha nikataa. Nasikitika anavyozungumza kwa sababu anaiumiza familia yangu kisaikolojia. Ila Mungu yupo na mbingu zitafunguka.”
(I am not using drugs and will never use them. If the bishop thought that would be the scandal that would bring me down, then I know he is in for a rude shock. He wanted to use me for sex and make money from my music but I refused. I am saddened by the things he said about me because it touches on my family, which has done nothing wrong. But I know God is with me and heavens will open up), the mother of three added.
Muhando allegedly sold her two cars to finance the expensive habit of rumored drug and substance abuse. She insisted that the bishop grabbed the cars from her to orchestrate her claimed drug abuse.
Tanzanian blogs have also been abuzz with claims that Muhando has resorted to engaging in shady business deals, including asking for advance payment for gigs and then not showing up, allegations she has denied vehemently, arguing if that is the case she should be facing several court cases.
“Kama Kweli natapeli mbona hawajawahi kunifikisha mahakamani na nikahukumiwa kama sio kunichafua? Ina maana Kesi zote wahusika hunisamehe au hazifikishwi mahakamani?” (If at all I am conning promoters then why is it that I am not in court or does it mean they let me go?)
Muhando, who converted from Islam, has insisted that all her miseries have been caused by the said bishop, whose name she has refused to divulge for fear that he would immediately end her life.
The 2008 Kenya Groove Awards winner has four albums to date, with hits such as “Facebook”, “Jipange Sawasawa”, “Nibebe”, “Mteule Uwe Macho” and “Utamu wa Yesu”, among others. If her move to Kenya materializes, it remains to be seen if her career will pick up again, as she plans to keep creating music.
