Rose Muhando Born in 1976 in Dumila, Kilosa District, Morogoro Region, Tanzania, where she grew up. She was a devout Muslim and attended Madrasa, an after-school Muslim religious education center.

Rose suffered from a mysterious illness at an early age that left her bedridden for three years. During this time, when she was nine, she claimed to have seen a vision of Jesus Christ while feeling on her sickbed. She was healed after this vision and converted to Christianity. Here is what she had to say about her conversion to Christianity:

“People think I have a good, smooth life. Totally wrong. My life was plagued by misfortunes of youth. This routine soon changed. A mysterious disease that left me bedridden for three years attacked me. My skin was peeling and I had a bubbling sore in my head that oozed fetid pus.My parents also took me to witch doctors but no luck there. Finally they took me home and I lay on a bed waiting for my death. But one night, Muhando recalls, as her parents sat in front of their grass-covered house, probably contemplating their fate, a bright light filled their home. I saw a bright light. Then a white-clad hand with a scar in the palm rose out of the light and touched my wound. Then a soft voice radiating authority said, “I am Jesus. i healed you wake up and serve me «The light disappeared. Muhando says she ran to her parents and screamed, “I’m healed, I’m healed”. They were amazed. I haven’t gotten out of bed in three years. “

Rose Muhando began her music career as a choir teacher in Dodoma’s St. Mary’s Choir for the Chimuli Anglican Church, but was fired from the church after she refused her request to record with the church choir.

However, that hasn’t stopped Rose from finding her way to success and worldwide popularity in her music career. She sold millions of copies of almost every album she released.

She made it to the limelight in 2003 and released her first album, Uwe Macho the next year in 2004. Her fame on the gospel music stage later earned her the nickname, Queen Mother of Gospel Africa .

On April 6, 2014, she made a narrow escape from being abducted from the KKT church in Ushirika wa Magomeni, where she was giving a performance. Claims followed that the singer had a habit of taking advance payment for performances and ended up never showing up for the performances. She was also accused of terminating a seven-month-old pregnancy.

However, Rose Muhando has denied all of these allegations, explaining that they are merely the handiwork of her malicious critics bent on shattering her image and ending her once-booming career.

Her declarations did not lessen her suffering, however, when the situation became so unbearable for the gospel singer in 2017, she decided to leave Tanzania to settle permanently in Kenya. It has also been claimed that her many problems caused her to return to her former religion, Islam.
