Ron Roddan Cause Of Death: How Did Linford Christie’s Former Coach Die?
REST IN PEACE. Ron Roddan has passed away, leaving Linford Christie inconsolable over the loss of his beloved Team GB Olympic legend coach. The reason for death has not been disclosed.
Due to his advanced age, it can be a long-term or natural sickness. The family hasn’t officially revealed what happened to Christie’s beloved coach Roddan, though.
The Olympic 100-meter gold medal Christie won at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona is what made him most famous. Roddan coached several well-known athletes in the booming athletics scene when it was one of the most watched sports on TV.
He progressively brought out the best attributes in Christie by integrating himself into London’s athletics scene. Christie came in second to Carl Lewis in the 100-meter final at the most contentious race in history, the 1988 Olympics in Seoul.
Ben Johnson, the Canadian champion, was disqualified after the competition, thus Christie initially believed he had won bronze. Four years later, Christie participated in Barcelona and advanced to the final as the second-fastest man there.
Roddan finished in 9.96 seconds but infamously went on to lose the Olympic gold medal race due to an ankle injury. He watched the race on a TV in the warm-up area instead.
The Performance Coach of the Year Award from the London Regional Council was handed to him in 2011.
