Ron Carpenter was the drummer for the Australian hard rock band AC/DC for a short period of time. He replaced the original drummer Colin Burgess in February 1974 and the line-up at the time was Angus Young (lead guitarist), Malcolm Young (rhythm guitarist), Dave Evans (lead singer) and Neil Smith (bass guitarist). At this time, the band had no regular bass guitarist and drummer and Ron Carpenter was soon replaced by Russell Coleman. Before Ron Carpenter joined AC/DC he played with the band Bogislav.

Ron Carpenter was born into a musical family. He learned to play the piano from his mother and from his father, a saxophonist, he learned to play the drums. He learned to play other instruments also during his music career. At school, Ron became interested in computers and synthesizers. In his later life he played in various bands and worked in the electronic side of music (especially with loudspeakers).
