English musician, singer, and composer Roger Taylor OBE was born on July 26, 1949. As the rock band Queen’s drummer, he attained widespread renown.
Because of the “great drum sounds” on the early Who songs, Keith Moon of the Who served as Taylor’s inspiration for learning how to tune his drums.
The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s drummer Mitch Mitchell, who Taylor cited as his early inspiration, had a significant impact on him as well.
Taylor moved to London in 1967 to enroll at the London Hospital Medical College to study dentistry, but after finding the subject boring, he switched to biology and earned a BSc at East London Polytechnic.
