Do you think he’s sexy? His wife Penny Lancaster, who gave birth to his eighth child in February 2011, clearly thinks Stewart has still got it. The ageing rock icon showed a thoroughly modern enthusiasm for youngest son Aiden’s water birth in February, packing his swimming trunks in order to dive into the birthing pool, and says he soothes his colic by crooning to him in those famous husky tones. Lancaster is the fifth mother to Stewart’s children and his third wife. The singer’s enduring allure to long-limbed, blonde-locked beauties — and the fertility of their unions — has run concurrent with his staying power as a recording musician. He has said: “I can’t have any more kids, otherwise I’ll be touring until I’m 90.” That should not be necessary. Stewart’s Great American Songbook series of albums has boosted his career and last year he released Fly Me to the Moon — the latest volume in the series. He also toured, included one-off gigs in Dubai, Malta and at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Pollstar reported gross box office receipts worldwide of $32m from 35 shows in 2010. Stewart’s property portfolio comprises homes in France and Essex, a Palm Beach seafront house and a Beverly Hills mansion. He admitted to Piers Morgan on television that he was worth more than £100m. Sunday Times Rich List’s rock expert reckons it is £115m, to be precise.
