Led Zeppelin lead singer and songwriter Robert Plant has an estimated net worth of $170 million.
Before joining the said band, Plant played with several bands such as Crawling King Snakes, and Band of Joy. In 1968, when guitarist Jimmy Page was in search of a lead singer for his new band at that time, he turned down his first choice, Terry Reid and picked Plant for the said position.
With the enormous success of Led Zeppelin, he contributed the track, Stairway to Heaven which was featured in the band’s Led Zeppelin IV album became a huge hit. Plant embarked his solo career after the band dissolved in December 1980. Two years later, he released his first album, Pictures at Eleven. Soon after, it followed by 9 studio albums, two compilation albums, and 42 singles. He also toured extensively in America and the UK.
The reunion concert in London in 2007 rekindled rumours about the possibility of the band getting back together for a full-scale tour. But Midlands-based Plant does not need the money. He has two companies, Trolcharm and Sons of Einion, which together had nearly £21m of net assets in their 2009-10 accounts.
Robert Anthony Plant was born on August 20, 1948 in West Bromwich, Staffordshire, England. He has four children, three from his previous marriage with his former wife, Maureen and a son from Maureen’s sister, Shirley. While on a Led Zeppelin tour in the United States, Karac Pendragon died of a stomach infection in 1977.
