Rob Dyrdek has a monster energy drink back tattoo for company promotional purposes. Rob Dyrdek is the star of the MTV show Ridiculousness.
The Ohio-born television personality has gained notoriety as a pro skateboarder and remains one of the most successful entrepreneurs on the planet. His ventures range from skateboarding events to whiskey as he founded his production company, Superjacket Productions.
But many know him for pioneering internet-based content, with MTVs Ridiculousness being a childhood favorite. The format followed clip-based reaction videos as they broke down the viral content.
After ten years, he is still known as the king of range and is still going strong at 48 and gearing up to film 336 episodes in 2023.
The Reason Behind Rob Dyrdek Monster Back Tattoo
Rob Dyrdek made a fake tattoo on his back for a publicity stunt for the energy drink company. Rob is known as the world oldest kid because of his actions.
He went on a podcast to finally dish out the details of his peculiar monster art that allegedly covered most of his back. He has good relations with the team of the beverage company as they had poured millions of dollars into his sports drama reality series Street Dreams.
He was utterly grateful for their support and would not have denied them any of their requests.
Besides, he has been accepting sponsorships with a subtle Redbull fridge in the show’s first season as product placement. They came to his doors asking to make viral content with their brand, and in exchange, they would pay him a hundred grand a month.
The sum was huge during the 2010s as he began brainstorming ways to cause a stir. In the episode, he looked like he had committed to getting the signature logo ingrained into his skin. He talked about his gratitude towards the corporations, making the video seem real.
As a result, people saw the unique letter colored in neon green, as the claws of a wild beast extended from his shoulder to his lower back. During the painful process, he video-called his friends, who told him it looked horrible.
Even his mother was horrified and accused him of being under the influence. She was resentful of him dirtying his body, but his pain was too much for him to adhere to her complaint. After nine hours, he was finally done with his pledge and thanked the artist for being so supportive.
The stint was a mere promotional stunt, as he never got a drop of ink in his body. The funniest thing was that people still believed that he had engraved the image, as people from the Midwest in their 50s still asked him about his back.
After fifteen years, a small portion of Americans still assumes that he has done something ridiculous, as he forgot to plan his exit strategy.
On the other hand, he has used his body as a canvas numerous times, with permanent art on his wrist in the shape of a diamond.

In October, he asked his followers who were bold enough to permanently carve Bobby Light, a character from Rob and Big, on their limb. Light is one of his alternate personalities, which got featured during his series in 2007.
The role was a self-proclaimed one-hit wonder, an R&B sensation, and he headed to the studio to record a song and even shot a low-budget music video for their hot new single.
Indeed, the alter ego made a few comebacks as he opened for the rock band Blink 182 in 2009.
