Villanueva suffered a sudden brain aneurysm four days ago before her death on November 17. Her family immediately rushed her to the University Hospital in Cleveland.
She underwent two complicated surgeries to clamp the aneurysm and to reduce the swelling on her brain.
On November 20, her stepfather, who regularly shared updates about her health on his Facebook, said she remained strong throughout multiple surgeries and was kept on a ventilator to keep her activity at a minimum.
Then, he announced her death news the very next day with a series of photos and a lengthy emotional obituary. In his caption, he said Lindsey and her sisters accepted him warmly into their lives, treating him the same as their biological father.
