Ringtone (real name Alex Apoko) born twenty-six years ago in Kisii District. He is a Kenyan Gospel singer who has risen from a very humble background. He is termed among the wealthiest artists in Kenya, living in one of the most affluent neighborhoods and driving big cars.

Ringtone’s mother dumped him at the doorstep of a bar at the Nairobi’s Tom Mboya street frequently visited by his father. Unfortunately, his father did not visit his local that night.
But his uncle recognized the baby’s wrappings and took him to his paternal grandmother. Today He parks his four-wheel-drive Nissan patrol in front of a restaurant near the twentieth-century cinema and chats with parking boys as if they are close friends. But it has not been easy for Ringtone. “My grandmother is the kindest woman I have ever met”. He confided to us. “She took me in and brought me up like one of her own”.She turned her place into a small brewery and sold chang’aa so that I could get something to eat.”
“When I was five my dad passed away before I could meet him. It did not bother me so much because I did not even know how he looked like.”Recalled Ringtone.
“But my grandmother’s passing away two years later marked the beginning of the darkest period of my life. But my uncles took me in and for the first time, I slept in the cold and went through a lot of hardships. Eventually, I ran away and the street was my home”.Ring tone confided.
“One of my aunts asked me to go and live with her, promising she would treat me the way my grandmother had. She promised me tea and bread, food which she knew I loved and couldn’t find on the street.”

Controversial Kenyan Gospel Musician Ringtone Apoko aka Ringtone has lived up to his Promise of buying Zari Hassan a brand new Range Rover sport 2017. Ringtone who has been salivating over Zari went to deliver his gift to Zari after hearing that she was being interviewed at Kiss 100.
However, on his arrival at Lions Place in Westlands, Ringtone was informed that the boss lady had already left the premises.
Ringtone Baby mama scandal
Angel Nyambura claims that she is ringtone’s baby mama. She claims that she sired Ringtone’s baby but he has since denied responsibility as a father and claims that ringtone give out her number to his uncle for Angel to meet with his uncle but they didn’t meet.
A man by the name Philip Mwaura who claims to be a tout in Thika came out to claim that the baby belonged to him but Angel refuted the claims and said she doesn’t even know him and she would take legal actions against him. She claims that the man may be paid to tarnish her name. She said that since Ringtone has said that the baby is not his they should conduct a DNA test to know the truth.
Karen mansion kicked out
According to termination of lease letter addressed to the singer by lawyers acting on behalf of the property landlord, Ringtone leased the mansion situated on Karen Muiri Gardens on July 01, 2016 at Sh200, 000 per month but has since defaulted rent payment for the last two months.
“Numerous requests by our client through his agent have been made for you to honor our obligations under the agreement in the last several weeks in vain and to date. You have not given any concrete proposals on how you intend to pay the said arrears and regularize the default. You have taken our client in circles and played with his agent a game of musical chairs and your said actions do not augur well with our client,” reads part of the letter from Cliff Oduk Advocates.
EVICTION NOTICE
“In light of the foregoing and in order to mitigate any further loss to our client, please note that your tenancy has become untenable and the same is hereby terminated with immediate effect as provided for under Clause 8 of the Lease agreement which entitles either party to terminate the lease agreement,” the letter continues.
The singer has further been given seven days to come up with the amount or face legal action against him.
In August this year Ringtone was on the spot for allegedly grabbing a house in Runda. The house allegedly belonged to a deceased foreigner, but a Kenyan family claimed to have been living in it for the past 35 years.
However, the singer claimed that he had been paying rent and has been living in the house for the past two years.
Ringtone Land grabbing Scandal
Gospel singer Alex Apoko alias Ringtone is on the spot for allegedly grabbing a house on Runda drive. The house allegedly belongs to a deceased foreigner but a local family claims to have been living there for more than 35 years now.
At the accusing end, is a Kenyan family that claims to have been living on the premises for the last 35 years while he says that he has paid rent and occupied the same house for the past two years without any problems with the landlord. The drama reportedly began when the Kenyan family in the company of their lawyer made their way to the premises, allegedly with the intent of taking the things belonging to them.
According to the said lawyer, He came to the home 4 months ago accompanied by the house owner’s nephew and tried to kick the family out. They reportedly ‘came with a welding machine and burglarized the house.’
He is also accused of ramming into their vehicles which were parked inside the compound, a claim that the musician has since denied. He on his part claims that a neighbor alerted him that people were cutting his fence and he called upon security guards who went to his rescue.
“I do not want to be involved in the controversy of that land, I have been paying rent and the landlord has not told me to vacate the house. The people who came over were treated like thieves and were beaten and arrested by the police,” he said over a telephone interview.
Marriage to Ray C (Rehema Chalamila)
After reports emerged that Ringtone was eyeing the sassy diva Ray C of Tanzania. This was after an Instagram post that read “Attention: I hear Ray C is born again, and that she is searching for a husband. God is speaking to me. Kindly if you have her number send it to me and God will greatly bless you,”. He came out to refute the claims and said he just wanted to befriend her but not marry her. He said that God spoke to him to offer life advice to the Tanzanian singer.
“I want to be Ray C’s friend; to me, she is like Pamela who has returned to God’s ways. I am really looking for her number so that we can sit and talk.”
Speaking to Citizen Digital, the Pamela star clarified he currently has no intentions of marrying Ray C; but said the friendship might lead to ‘something’ if God plans so.
“When I said God has spoken to me, I did not mean he hinted at me to marry Ray C. Those are people’s speculations.”
“However, you never know God’s plans,” he said.
Asked on the particular advice he would like to offer Rehema, Ringtone said: “I really want to help her in worship; read her scripture and advise her. God also asked me to pray for her to get a deserving husband.”
“I would not mind buying her coffee so that we talk over the matter. I can even travel to Tanzania to meet with her,” he added.
He further says that he plans to bring Ray C on board to his anti-drug campaign which targets the youth and teenagers in secondary schools and colleges.
“I have loved Ray C’s transition and would also like to incorporate her in my project of reaching out to the youth to sensitize them on drugs and substance abuse.”
