Rico Yan, known officially as Ricardo Carlos Castro Yan, was a Filipino matinee idol, actor, model, and entrepreneur. Rico Yan was active in the media scenes from almost a decade 1995 to 2002.

Rico Yan was an alumnus of De La Salle University and he held a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing Management degree. Rico Yan is the grandson of a late former Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines called Manuel Yan.

Rico Yan appeared in a number of movies and some of them include Maalaala Mo Kaya, Got 2 Believe, Gimik: The Reunion, Dahil Mahal na Mahal Kita, Home Along da Riles da Movie 2, and others.

What Happened To Rico Yan? Rico Yan died on March 29, 2002, at the age of 27 years in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Philippines, and he is resting at Manila Memorial Park in Sucat. Rico Yan died of cardiac arrest or heart attack due to a sudden inflammation of his pancreas.
