Rick Smith, the former general manager of the Houston Texans, lost his wife Tiffany to breast cancer on Thursday.
Smith announced his wife had cancer and took a leave of absence from the squad shortly after the 2017 campaign ended.
Smith stated in a statement issued today: “My family and I are so appreciative of the love and support we have received throughout her course of treatments. We appreciate all of the prayers, well wishes, dinners, transportation to school, and other acts of kindness you have given us during this trying time.”
“Being a part of this community is a blessing. Godspeed to you all”.
The Smiths had been wed for 17 years. Three children are left behind by Tiffany Smith.
